Ambassador- Ret. 1SGT Shawn Moriariarity
We are pleased to welcome 1SG (ret) Shawn Moriarity as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “I am extremely humbled and proud to be a part of such an amazing organization which supports veterans and encourages veterans to stay active and continue to be a part of a team. Heroes sport is a great organization that goes above and beyond to make sure Vets are taken care of.”
Shawn was born July 5th, 1982 and joined the Army, April 2001 as a 13B cannon crew member. He deployed to Iraq 4 times in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010 and was selected into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club in 2010. During his rotation in 2006, he was struck by an IED which did some damage to his back which eventually forced him to MEB at almost 18 years. He retired as 1SG and married to Heather Moriarity and have 3 kids Ethan who is currently in AIT at Fort Sill, Hayden 9 years old and daughter Isabella who will be turn 3 on the 25th. During his career he has served as a Section chief, Gunnery Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Master Gunner and 1SG.
Ambassador- Ret. Tech Sgt. Christopher Ferrell
We are pleased to welcome Christopher Ferrell, Technical Sergeant (RET), as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “The opportunity to be an ambassador for Heroes Sports is truly humbling. Heroes Sports is so much bigger than just sports to me…it is more than being able to go into the outdoors with other active or former military, First Responders, etc. it’s about being able to give back to our brothers and sisters who have sacrificed for our country, our families, and each other…it’s easy to be together on the field…it’s easy to be part of each other lives when we are together…but it’s about helping those who are in need…silently battling, struggling alone…these are things that you don’t see posted on social media…because at the end of the day, I am honored to be part of something that is focused on helping others rather than just helping themselves.”

Personal Profile: Chris Ferrell was raised in northwest Louisiana, where he excelled in baseball and football. Upon graduation from high school he moved to Clovis, New Mexico to play baseball in college. After a year of being there, Chris Ferrell decided he wanted to do something greater with his life, something that would save lives, so he enlisted in the USAF and volunteered for EOD. TSgt Ferrell has proudly served for 13 years with four deployments to Afghanistan and one to Iraq, and was injured in an explosion in Dec 2009 and subsequently presented the Purple Heart for his wounds sustained in combat. He is married to Lauren Ferrell and they also have three children together, Pyper, Maximus, and Titan.

Ambassador- SSG Ryan McIntosh (US ARMY)
We are pleased to welcome SSG Ryan McIntosh, U.S. Army World Class Soldier Athlete, as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity than to represent Heroes Sports. If it weren’t for sports, I wouldn’t have overcome my injury with such a successful outcome. My friends and family along with Sports saved my life and that’s what Heroes Sports represents to me.”
SSG Ryan McIntosh is Active duty US Army who is currently stationed in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, Hannah, and son, Kaden, and daughter Grace. A native of Rifle, Colorado, McIntosh was a stand out in Track and field as well as football. He ran Track and Field for the US Paralympic team and is now pursuing his dreams of becoming a Paralympic Archer.
McIntosh Enlisted in the Army April of 2010, with one tour in Afghanistan out of Fort Carson, Colorado as an 11B Infantryman. On December 8th, 2010 McIntosh stepped on a Pressure plate land mind resulting in a traumatic amputation of his right leg below the knee. McIntosh is a recipient of 1 Purple heart, 4 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals, and is also a graduate of the US Army Airborne School.
Ambassador- Marshall Woods (UIS ARMY)
We are pleased to welcome Marshall Woods, U.S. Army veteran, as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Heroes Sports. I am honored for my family and I, not for the recognition of being an ambassador of an exceptional organization, but for the caliber of people I’m privileged to represent on a daily basis. As a veteran, I know how imperative it is to stay active, which is why I’m extremely eager to work with service members and veterans in order to make sure their time is spent making memories with their brothers and sisters in arms. I’ve been fortunate to live and serve in Hawaii for the past 7 years and this is a perfect place to expand Heroes Sports awareness.”
Marshall Woods is a US Army veteran who currently lives in Kailua, Hawaii with his wife, Ashley, and son, Nate. A native of Appomattox, Virginia, Woods was a Virginia High School League First Team All-State football and baseball star at Appomattox County High School. He played collegiate baseball at Kent State University, and is a baseball and slow-pitch softball enthusiast on the Island of Oahu. He teaches hitting and infield lessons at 808 Baseball Academy in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
Woods served in the US Army from 2008-2016, with one tour in Afghanistan out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. From 2011-2016, he and Ashley, a wedding photographer, were stationed at Schofield Barracks. A Financial Management Technician, Woods is a recipient of 4 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals, and is also a graduate of the US Army Airborne School.
Woods is also a 5 time member of the All Army Men’s Softball team and the US Armed Forces Softball team. He has helped the Army win 1 Silver and 4 straight Gold medals at the All Armed Forces Men’s Softball Championship, while being selected team co-captain for the Army twice and team co-captain for the US Armed Forces team. He has also been involved in numerous championships with multiple teams around the civilian and military softball community, to include 4 The Fallen, JTF Pacific, Hawaii’s Finest, Get Nutz, Guzzlers Hawaii, and All American Bombers. Woods is also a brand ambassador for All American Athletics, a veteran owned and operated authorized retailer for baseball and softball equipment in Clackamas, Oregon.
Ambassador- Ret. TSgt. Derrick Victor (US AIR FORCE)
We are pleased to welcome TSgt (Ret) Derrick Victor, as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “Being an ambassador for Heroes Sports is an opportunity to be a part of a family that serves a greater purpose than any one individual person. Helping in a network of veterans that brings one another closer through sports and outreach is the least I can do to give back to those that have helped me get to where I am today. Thank you Mike and fellow Heroes Sports Ambassadors for the opportunity to help you build this network into something bigger and better as a family of one.”
Born August 27th, 1980 in New Port Richey, FL. Graduated high school in 1998 and attended college on a baseball scholarship. Obtained a BS in Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2002. Begin enlisted active duty 18 May 2004 and graduated EOD School in May 2005. Deployed to Iraq in 2006 and Afghanistan 2007 and again in 2009 in which sustained the injuries ultimately forcing retirement. In between was able to complete a Master’s program in Homeland Security. Just began new career as an EOD School instructor at Eglin AFB, a position created by the AF Wounded Warrior Program and effectively retired on December 28th, 2015.
Ambassador-Ret. Spc. Josh Johnson (US ARMY)
We are pleased to welcome SPC (Ret) Josh Johnson as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “It is an honor and privilege to have served my country. But its an even bigger honor to serve the ones who have given so much for our country. Heroes Sports has helped me from my injury and given me hope throughout that process.”
SPC Johnson enlisted in the Army in November 2006, completing one tour in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. On July 6, 2011 FOB Fortress was attacked by insurgents and during the attack, SPC Johnson was struck in the knee by a PKM round. Johnson has been awarded a Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medic Badge and 3 ARCOMs for his service.
Josh Johnson is medically retired and currently living in Glen Rose, Texas with his wife Kayla and their three daughters Blakely, Madalynn and Lanie. A native of Gorman, Texas, Johnson was a standout in baseball and football.
Ambassador-Ret. Maj. Jacob Lual Ramos (US ARMY)
We are pleased to welcome MAJ (Ret) Jacob Lual Ramos as an ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “Being an ambassador for Heroes Sports is an opportunity to be a part of a family that serves a greater purpose. Helping veterans through sports and community outreach is the least we can do to give back. MAJ Ramos enlisted in the Army in October 1989, completing numerous tours throughout his 25 years of service. He deployed to Somalia, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan. MAJ Ramos enlisted in the Army as a 91A Combat Medic, 1996 went through Special Forces Assessment, and in 2003 attended OCS. His awards and decorations are as follow, Combat Medic Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Master Parachutists Badge, Pathfinder Badge ,Air Assault Badge, 2 Bronze Star, 2 MSM 11ARCOMs for his service.
Jacob Ramos is retired and currently living in Olympia, WA with his wife Ruth and their daughter Destiny, His other children Alexis, Jacob and Brianna live out of state. A native of Brooklyn NY, Jacob attended High School in Milford CT where he was a standout baseball and soccer athlete. MAJ Ramos is the owner and operator of Legends Sports.
Ambassador- SFC. Dann Roger ” Maxx Sioux” (US ARMY)
We are pleased to welcome SFC Dann Rogers Maxx Sioux, as an Ambassador for Heroes Sports.
In his words, “Mike Barker, Heroes Sports, and all of the Ambassadors have a unique drive that propels them to be extraordinary humans who make the world around them better. Helping Veterans/Service members is important to me because they made a conscious choice to put the country’s interests ahead of their own. It’s because of their sacrifices I was able to enjoy sports, working with dogs, community events and my family. I was recently able to assist in presenting a service dog to a veteran, it opened my eyes to the positive atmosphere in this organization, who wouldn’t want to be a part of it? I’m honored to be chosen as an Ambassador, and thank you to everyone who made this achievable.”
SFC Dann Rogers is a Soldier who is currently stationed in Seattle, Washington with his wife, Sabrina, and daughter Alaina. A native of Marinette, Wisconsin, Rogers was a mediocre at best football, basketball and baseball high school athlete.
Rogers Enlisted in the Army August of 1999, with 7 overseas tours as a Military Working Dog handler. Rogers is a 3 time medalist as a member of the All-ArmySoftball team. Rogers is a recipient of 1 Bronze Star, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, 8 Army Commendation Medals, and 7 Army Achievement Medals.
Ambassador- MSgt. Gerry Todd Palmer (US Air Force)

Born July 28th, 1982 in Tucson AZ. Graduated high school in 2000 from Shelby HS, Shelby NE.and joined the Air Force directly after in September 2000. Graduated Fuels Apprentice course in January 2001. Has done 7 deployments and two remote tours to Korea. Currently stationed at Scott AFB where he is the Assistant Director of Operations for the 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron
